Jenhs, your bike is GORGEOUS! Orbea makes some nice looking bikes…
Re: the topic at hand, I don’t have anything against pink per se, but the lack of variety is frustrating. I’m not a huge fan of the pastels=girl trend that seems to happen. Give us some options for petes sake!
I’m not a fan of PINK bikes, but I like yours. It looks like the color of a faded pink oxford cloth shirt. As that is a color I wear (and, yes, my modes of transportation MUST match my wardrobe!), I’d ride that bike!
I’m in the process of stripping the paint off my Al Cdale road bike. I was thinking about getting it painted, but I’m getting pretty attached to the emerging naked Al. I may just leave it as-is, and add white bar tape and saddle. We’ll see. Now the only question is whether I want to stick with Shimano or move to SRAM or Campy (drool) …
That year’s P3 was and always will be my dream bike! (But then, grey is my favorite color!) I actually had one for a while, then (like the fool I am) sold it when I stopped doing tris and TTs.
Right now I have a P3 that is painted with the red Dual scheme. I’ve never seen another one like it, but as soon as I finish stripping the paint of my roadbike, I’m going to take that red off, too! Naked Al or Ti for me all the way!
Be still my heart. OMG, this thread is killing me.
For the record I love all colors, I especially love color when it’s done well, and when it reflects the personality of the wearer…I am thoroughly enjoying looking at all these bikes. Thx for posting.
gurubikes.com let you pick from tons of colors and designs, and they are sweet bikes. A little pricey, but its another option if color is that important.
Just had a crono fitted for me and picked out silver base with purple accent… I’ll post a pic when I get it… can’t wait!!!
Blech…pink just screams “I am woman, hear me roar.” I like to be a bit more subtle. I have the Cannondale Optimo Feminine bike in light green with bamboo and a dragonfly. The shop where I bought it had the standard Cannondale coloring in the women’s frame, too, but when they brought out the green one I thought “now I can OWN this bike!”
I am only starting to appreciate SOME pink. I am the only girl after 3 boys, so as a small child all my clothing was pastel and looked like a lamp shade. I then could not get myself to go near anything pastel, let alone pink, until I got a pink red sox cap 3 years ago. I like it. And now I own 2 pink t-shirts. but not sure I am ready for girl colored bikes nor jerseys…
I’m not a pink person either. I like my tri bike which is red, black, white and yellow… and my road bike which is sparkly light silvery blue. It depends on which angle of the sun hits it whether it looks more blue or more silver.
That bike is sweet. I’d have it with the mix of pink and black. But then again I love pink. It’s a really good color for me in any shade. I saw a girl on a ride though that was covered in pink from her bike, her bike bag, her shoes, her jersey, her gloves. Now that was a bit too much.
