I have really no use for this, but I want it:
Put me on the list. But I’d never want to pay what they’ll be asking even if I could afford it. Love the look and design.
Only thing I don’t like is the idea of all those batteries under water. But if you want to go mudding, you get a cheap 4x4 pick up to trash.
It’s not very aero.
Isn’t it truncated?
I thought this was going to be about Black Flag.

When I hit the Mega Millions tonight and the Powerball tomorrow night, I’m buying you one, buddy. ![]()

If this makes it to production I am definitely taking a look. The 200 mile range would work perfect for me (back and forth to airport, up to the mountains in the winter). I love the usefulness of the design and the simplicity of the entire vehicle.

For EV enthusiasts who’ve long lamented there are no all-electric trucks for sale
It’s not a truck.

Yes it is.
Nope. It’s not. Just because a salesman says it is, doesn’t turn it into one either.

What?
No action shots of it in the dirt?

Per your link:
a strong horse-drawn or automotive vehicle (such as a pickup) for hauling
Which element is lacking (besides not being horse drawn)?
Hauling? I’ll give you that cargo volume may be less than a pickup truck. (But with no engine there is a big trunk in front.) However, payload (6000 lbs) is 2x to 4x (depending on model) greater than a 2017 Ford F150 Truck. An F250 won’t carry that much weight. You’ll need a F350.
You don’t buy that truck if you are going to haul pine straw. You buy it if you are planning to rob Ft. Knox to pay off the loan.
Do you have something you call a truck? What is the payload capacity?
I thought this was going to be about Black Flag.
I came here to post this ^
.
There is no way that thing can handle the weight the manufacturer is claiming. It’s also too light to pull a larger trailer safely and the “box” is too short to drag a 5th again safely. Like I said, it’s not a truck and if I were going to rob Fort Knox and that things payload was honest - I’d use it. But I’m pretty sure - they’re bullshitting you.
Oh,I do own a real truck, it’s a Ford F350 crew cab long box. I can carry things like full sheets plywood with the endgate closed. That thing you’re so enamoured with doesn’t even have enough room for a coleman cooler in the “box”.

Well my initial reaction was the same as yours and I started to type my concurrence. But if it weighs only 4000 lbs, each wheel with “hydro-pneumatic suspension” needs to be rated for 2,500 lbs. My 1997 GMC Suburban 4x4 has front suspension rated for nearly 4000 lbs, or 2000 lbs/wheel. With modern hi-tech suspension components on a exotic, price-is-no-obstacle vehicle, I’d have to do more research before I call BS.
And did you watch the “functionality” video? They load 4x8 sheets of plywood. Though the sheets are sticking out past the lowered tailgate, that is not much different than what you’d have with many Ford “trucks” on the road (there are few long beds to be found). AND they carry a contractors table saw and plug it in to the truck to cut wood.
Carry 4x8 + carry contractor’s saw + power contractors saw = truck
I hope we get BC contractor guy’s opinion on this.

Yes you have a truck. But I can carry a 4x8 sheet of plywood or drywall INSIDE my Suburban so it won’t get wet if it rains and I tow 5-7000 lbs once per week. Do I have a truck?
Folks that buy that vehicle will have no idea of what is a “coleman cooler.” Yeti.
Even if I won the lottery, I would not buy that thing. But I do think it is cool.
Sure you can carry a 4x8 sheet of plywood in your Suburban, but if you have your family with you, which kid are you leaving at Home Depot?
I’m not rich enough to own a yeti, hence the POS Ford. If I had it my way, it would be a Chevy with a Duramax.

Not a truck.
Or, technically is a truck in the same vein a chevy avalanche, Honda Ridgeline or one of those tiny ass Mitsubishi trucks are, meaning, no one shopping for a truck for the majority of typical truck uses would ever buy one.
/Discussion.
Honestly, before I even read your discussion with rusty I looked at the article and thought “why on Earth are they calling that jeep a truck?”
.
Please forgive H-, I’m pretty sure he doesn’t work for a living.
Well I assumed you would love to be able to power your Fein tools with your “truck.” I am sure the GCs in Aspen, CO, and Palo Alto, CA are gonna buy these. I also expect it to become the choice of minimalist house builders.
Truck. Truck. Truck. Truck.
