Giant // High-Road TechDev Bike Updated -- Hidden Rear Brake

From the Vuelta, notice the rear brake is now underneath the crankset.

versus the old bike (still being used)

Very interested in these new Giant framesets …

i wonder two things:

  1. when will they start using the scott plasma 2?
  2. Is that a new dura-ace deep dish wheel, same as a snapped on crowies bike at the australian long course tri?

Looking closely at the white stripe down the rear of the seat tube/seat stay area there appears to be a bulge where the previous brake was mounted.

Interesting.

I wonder if simply moving the brake under the bottom bracket *really *exerts any improvment?

I wonder why the didn’t just hide the front brake inside that “cowling” on the fork rather than using that goofy behind the fork position…which prevents them from moving the downtube closer to the wheel???

Now we need a cross between the P4 and the Giant with the integrated front end of the Giant with a front mounted brake, the rear brake arrangement of the P4 and please make it in a size 51 with a 75mm head tube and I will sell a kidney to get one!

Kevin

or just a p4
