Getting to downtown SF from SFO with 1 yo

The family is headed to San Fran in a couple of weeks. We will be staying at the Hilton (by the Moscone Convention Center on O’Farrel). Any locals with experience getting from SFO to that area with a one year old and wife. I was thinking about taking the BART but was not sure about safety, ease of use with luggage, and a kid. Any thoughts? We are there for four days and did not want to bring a car seat. THanks in advance for the collective help at ST!

BART is a good option and is safe. Walking from the Powell St Station is 4 or 5 blocks. Bring a folding stroller and you should be good as long as you don’t have too much luggage.

Thanks for the post, I appreciate the help! Any other input out there? Taxi would be great but we do not want to bring the carseat since we will be walking once we get there.

BART is the way I would go unless you want to spend $$$ for a van/taxi.

the BART station is a couple of blocks from your Hotel, the trains run every 5-10 minutes, and it will drop you right into the terminal. Its clean and safe and is pretty quick, about 20-25 minutes to the airport. The train cars are designed to carry luggage with lots of open space.

Awesome, thanks for the reply!

A taxi to the airport with tip will run you about $40. Two adults on BART will be about $9-10.
