Get into IMLP now folks...what holding you back?

So basically, 800 bucks for an online training program?

How bad do you want it?

Where did you see 800? This is what I see:

IM Lake Placid Camp Package
(Race entry, Training Camp)
USD$1450.00

IM Lake Placid Training Program Package
(Race entry, Online Training Program)
USD$1250.00

Well do the math. $450 for entry and $800 and change for training program.

If the race is $450 and the race + training program is $1250, then it is $800 for the on-line training program. Right?

Sorry, yup, just got it now. It’s Monday with no coffee, what do you want!
M~

I did the training camp without the race entry(entered race via Active.com) this year.

It was great to preview in the course with excellent SAG support.

I would have really dreaded the bike descents had I not done the camp. It also gave me a lot of confidence in the swim as I realized Placid is a cake swim compared to FL.

The food is included in the price. This includes a private dining room at the restaurant next to the Golden Arrow for the campers and is buffet(all you can eat). Usually buffets tend to be poor quality and even though I am a very picky eater when it comes to American food I thought the selection and quality was very good.

This is a fantasy camp with the best pros and they eat every meal with you and are very accessible.

Overall the camp is well worth the money, especially if you have never race or trained at Placid, which I had not.

I don’t think I would do it again now that I have raced Placid, but I might at some other venue(CDA '09 maybe Wisconsin '10).

Wow, those training camps are expensive.

I did the fireman ironman camp for last years IMLP and will again next year. $50 + cheapo motel + gas/tolls and some food. That $800 doesn’t include lodging.

I also don’t get why they have the key swim workout in a pool and not Mirror Lake. The second week in June is warm enough to swim in.

I asked that same question. First of all the weather can vary quite a bit. Some years the highs were in the 40s. Also they are trying to impart an IM specific workout that one can use throughout the year not just open water technique that one can use only in the event. We did swim in mirror late on Saturday. I even took the opportunity to swim another lap on Sunday after the long run.

I was swimming in Mirror lake in late May this year with a Zoot Zenitz wet suit and was plenty warm. Tim
