German Fernandez again

For those of you that haven’t seen yet, he went 7:47 in the 3K today at the Husky Classic in Seattle. I’m not sure if USATF keeps indoor junior records, but it’s 2 seconds faster than Galen Rupp did as a college frosh. Also, Luke Puskedra dropped a 13:46 in the 5K. Boy oh boy we’ve got some kick ass youngsters giving us hope for the future.

It wouldn’t be a record. Oversized track.

Ah, good point. But who cares. That is fast. Besides, if he runs that at NC’s , the track at Arkansas is a speedway. He’ll get another shot. From what I’m reading, he and Michael Coe finished the last mile in 4:02 with a closing 3:00 for the last 1200. That’s scary good.

Well even he doesn’t run that at Arkansas he could do it at the NCAA Indoor Championships where its gonna be a race to watch with Fernandez and Coe, and i’m putting my bets in with German to win it. By the way anybody see Connor Reed the kids gonna be nasty he won the mile at the Boston Indoor Games with a 4:09, should be going sub-4 by his freshmen year in college.

Mac Fleet won the Boston Indoor Games. He’s had some injuries the last couple of years but ran that fast in 10th grade. Not a bad way to open the year though.

He got a record yesterday…NCAA Indoor mile at 3:55.02. Kid’s got some wheels!
