Gerard/Tom D--What's the deal w/Cervelo Sizing

Gentlemen,

I’m trying to help a few of my clients find bikes for 2005. 2 years ago, I was fairly confident that I understood Cervelo’s sizing. However, things seem really different for the new bikes.

Is it correct that the P3 Team and P3SL actually have different sizing runs and that those are even different from the P2K? Why? I thought the P3 and the P3SL were the exact same except for the finish. Now it looks like they size differently as well. Can you explain? This may have an impact on which equipment is available (fit matters most;-) and appropriate for my clients.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

I spoke with Phil White at length on this topic for my review and for the same reason you are. Rather than speak for Gerard and Phil, try phoning them at Cervelo from their contact page on their website.

You hook enough people up with bikes that I have to imagine they will be fine with taking a moment to chat. Phil was very helpful in improving our understanding of the fit protocols.

Yeah - this is a big deal for me too. You (Tom D.) and I are about the same size and you took the 53 P3SL : ) Thus, if I want to get a standard P3, I am stuck between a 51 and 54 - - - both 650c wheels. With the 53 P3SL I can get 700c wheels. What gives? I too thought the P3 and the P3SL were the same sans the stickers and fancy paint. The Felt B2 is becoming more attractive to me as a result . . .

Also, (Tom) with the 53 P3SL do you have “toe-clip” overhang with the front wheel?
