sorry, i’m no cervelo cycles owner or designer, but no way this puppy is real…i’ve worked for cervelo dealers for seven or eight years now and have seen piles of decal kits, and an equal pile of black house brand tri/tt frames…unbelievable that people get away with selling this kinda crap.

edited house for hose…there’s no hoses in this house, and i can’t spell worth a damn

It is NOT. There was NO P-1 ever, and NO P-1 Proto.

Cervelo lists all models, protos, etc. on their website here:
http://cervelo.com/history/classics2.html

It is a great bit of history, and also useful for foiling attempts like this…

I would question the authenticity as well, check out his past sales. One is a Specialized decal kit.

Buyer Beware.

Actually, that page specifically states that they cannot show all of their prototypes. So it is possible the auction is authentic. Hopefully gerard will see this and let us know.

Looks like a Leader frame.

bump for Gerard…

it also kind of looks like a felt s series frame
.

Looks like a repainted late 90’s Cinelli Unica to me.

Nothing on this frame seems “revolutionary.” In fact, it is so simplistic as to be a joke (considering he lists it as a 99 prototype). I am sure there are some frames that are projects in the works or that might otherwise compromise the security of Cervelo’s intellectual property and therefore cannot be shown. Nothing on this frame would lead me to believe this is one of them…

And, I asked the guy on eBay why it wasn’t listed among Cervelo’s models, and he was a real asshole. If it was genuine, I would have expected some story as to how he came by it, etc. since all that sort of information is lacking.

I like the note in the description that the frame was “NEVER BUILT.” I know he is trying to say that it was never put into production, but it seems pretty funny considering that there is a 99% chance it is a fraud…

I hope Gerard can put the question to rest…

Emailed the folks at Cervelo a link too.

I imagine it may be a bit of time before we get a visit from Gerard since he is probably wokring the ‘floor’ at Eurobike for the next few days.

I guess we’ll have to keep bumping it until he gets back.

“Looks like a Leader frame.”

Not a recent one. I’m not sure what the “old” Leader frames looked like, but the top tube on that bike is too thick to be a Leader frame, and the head tube is too long.

I like the note in the description that the frame was “NEVER BUILT.” I know he is trying to say that it was never put into production, but it seems pretty funny considering that there is a 99% chance it is a fraud…

Actually, what he means is that this particular frame was never built up into a working bicycle (adding components, etc.)…

Confirmation via email from Cervelo. The frame is a fake. Nothing Cervelo can do though; eBay has to choose to act.

Felt’s flare the top tube at the seat tube intersection. Certainly not a Felt.

it’s a POS Scattante from 3 years ago.

I don’t think Scattante has ever made a 650c bike. I really think it is a repainted late 90’s aluminum Cinelli either a Unica or a Proxima. I’ve seen a lot of late 90’s Cinelli Aluminum frames floating around on Ebay for extremely cheap.

No wait…

I have the “original prototype” P-0 sitting at home. I’ve been waiting for the guy to sell the only Cervelo P-1 so I can get more money for my Huffy…opsss…I mean Cervelo P-0.
