Your website copy says the crown is optimzied for crown/tire spacing…
Ok, what size tires is it optimized for?
Your website copy says the dropouts are designed to minimize vortex generation…
Ok, what about when we add skewers to the equation? What are the “best” skewers for your fork?
Unfortunately this is a little more complicated than it is useful. It’s not just the width of the tires, also the thread pattern and the shape of the wheel they are on. There seems to be a trend towards slightly wider tires, even with the pros, so we try to cover the range from 19-23mm now. There doesn’t seem to be much of an effect in that range related to the fork (i.e. the effect is the same with or without the fork and due to the tire, not the fork-tire interaction.
Re. the dropouts, it is more the bottom of the dropouts that have a small feature in them. The sides, as you say, are covered by a quick release. Unless you go to really crazy stuff, I would say smaller is better for the quick release. I know, not a very shocking revelation.
“I know, not a very shocking revelation.”
Yes, but as you know…the devil is in the details…
Gracias, friend.
