Doing the half-IM at Macon, Georgia next weekend…I will only have time to drive up from Panama City, Fl on Saturday, and do the race Sunday, so minimal time to scout the course. Any gotchas? Anybody with any good tips for this tri? Thanks–

Don’t wear yourself out on the hills. If you are from FL, then you may not be used to them, except that bridge on the way out of PCB! Probably best to not to try to make up too much time pedaling the downhills–you may be better using them for recovery after the effort of cresting. There is one long downhill, however, about halfway through, that you may want to crank on just for fun, you can easily get going over 40MPH–my computer showed 44. Just moving your head slightly to the left or right was enough to change your direction of travel. Kind of scary.
Cool, thanks. I’m actually from Ohio…just temporarily in Florida for the summer, so I’m used to the hills. Kind of miss 'em, actually. Went for a 50-mile ride last weekend, and it was downright boring it was so flat.
