Gentlemen, you have liberated me from decals

Took 'em off my Velomax Vista wheels this morning. YOU gave me the courage.

Much more intimidating. You may decide not to even rack your bike once you see mine. The only other thing I think I can get off is the Syntace stuff. Now, if I can just get this huge M-Dot tattoo off my back…

Let’s have a look then, Monk. I want to get some black American Classic wheels and remove the decals but wonder whether they would look too bulky, and need the decals to break them up visually.

Last year I liberated my bike of the LBS stickers they slapped all over it. I did it mostly 'cause they pissed me off and I no longer wanted any association with them. I can’t name them for fear of banishment as they are one of Slowman’s favorites.

What would be fun, though is to get the stickers off one of those Toys’ R’ Us bikes or Costco bikes and put them on. “Hey, what kind of bike is that?”, “It’s a viPer x-TREME rAd. Pretty new, but you’ll be hearing about them. Frame weighs half a pound. Yeah, latest stuff, aluminum nanotube technology. NASA doesn’t even have this.”

EEEK!!!

Well, if you need some Easton Vista stickers to cover them back up, let me know…

I put my very own decals onto my stuff as I am the one paying for it.

Decals are overrated unless you are paid by the companies in question.

I’m going sans logo… and like bunnyman’s idea of gettin my own made…

Thinking of having IRONVIRGIN created for my first FULL…

Replace them with “Team Virtuvian”
.

Anyone - whats the best way to remove decals from a bike frame? I don’t want to muck up the paint, or leave the decals half hangin…

Bob Villa says this about cars, but it does work on bikes

"Removing Decals

Bumper stickers and dealer emblems are usually attached to a car with glue. The best way to loosen glue is heat, so try heating it up with a hair dryer. Use a putty knife, with its blade wrapped in duct tape to work the label up as the glue warms up."
