It opened at 10 am eastern… I think it will be full by 5:00 pm. That makes 7 hours for my guess.

At the banquet today around 12pm, they announced they already had 2000 signed up…I would imagine its filled up by now.
I registered online at about 12:45 EST. Hope to see some other ST’ers up there next year. Anyone else in?

LAKE PLACID, N.Y.—Limited slots are still available for the 2006 Ford Ironman USA Lake Placid triathlon.
More than 1800 athletes have signed up for the 2006 event via Internet in addition to the 400 athletes who signed up in Lake Placid, N.Y.
Athletes interested in registering for the 2006 Ford Ironman USA Lake Placid can go to ironmanusa.com and click on the entry link to claim one of the remaining 200 slots.
1,988 triathletes from around the world competed at the 2005 Ford Ironman USA Lake Placid. Athletes competed for 80 qualifying spots to the Ford Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
So I guess they are taking 2400 applications.
The IM USA site said FULL…but I went to active.com and BANG i’m in! Seems like full may not really be full…
