Gen X sh*t

Is it technically a longbox if it’s a box set?

This is the only longbox I owned. Still have it somewhere.

Definitely a true longbox.

Standard size jewel case.

Your musical choices have stood the test of time better than these.

3 of those bands played Lollapalooza the next year, and it was the best concert I’ll ever attend.

We knew we had it good, we just didn’t know how good.

I had a Vauxhall Nova with a girls footprints on the inside of the sunroof. Happy days.

This is why tetanus was the most feared childhood disease of our generation. Look at those guardrails.

The tetanus shot was both the Magic Wand for every injury and the option of last resort

Get poked until your fingernail while trying to undo a staple? Get a tetanus shot!!!
Step on a nail in your bare feet? Get a tetanus shot!!!
Crash your bike into a chain-link fence? Get a tetanus shot!!!
Wicked nun smacks your hand with a ruler so fucking hard that it snaps in half, leaving the metal straight edge embedded in your finger? Say a dozen Hail Marys!!! … and get a tetanus shot!!!

I was always told “better get a tetanus shot!!!” but no one ever took me for one

Ahh the gravitron. If you were pussy enough to use the guard rails, you deserved to get lock jaw.

This was a real waterslide built in the 80s.

And we wonder why kids today are soft.

I love how Action Park earned the nickname “Class Action Park”.

It was “Traction Park” before lawyers got involved

RIP to a Gen-X neo soul legend, gone too soon at 52. Fuck cancer.

If you don’t know him there’s a good chance your other half does if only from this video

So, for my “today I learned moment”, having just finished reading through this thread, I confirmed that I did, and still, do not know shit about Gen X sh*t.

We’re here to help

My current memory lane capacity is filled with remembering why I just went upstairs and filling in the gaps of my childhood in the 50’s and 60’s. Both my girls are late genXers and can fill me in on all of their early years that I somehow missed out on. But I’m somewhat afraid to ask them about all this shit as I am thinking that I am better off missing out and not knowing.
Thank you though.
