Where I live the only gel in town is Powergel, which I have found doesn’t work for me. Hammergel and GU both work fine for me, but neither are available here.
I’m doing IMC in a few weeks and would like to know which gels are available for sale in Penticton, say at the Bike Barn or other local establishments. Buying locally could save me hefty mail order shipping costs, but I’ll go that route if necessary.

I know they sell Gu in Canada now, the local Running Room carries it. I don’t know about Penticton specifically but I don’t see why not, it should be available somewhere in Penticton.
Don’t worry. They will have GU available from several vendors at the IMC Sports Expo.
Gu is all over Penticton before the race and it’s all over the course during the race.
Bike Barn sells both GU and Hammer products (as well as others). Other similar products available at Ray’s sporting goods and Penticton Pounders running store (both on the main drag downtown).
Good luck at IMC. I may see you at the finish as I hope to be a finish line “catcher”.
