Gearing questions for IMLP

I am currently running 39 and 55 chainrings with a 12-25 cassette. at moosman 3000 feet of climbing over 56 miles I was in my 39 25 alot what are the gearing options while keeping the 55?

I am am racing IMLP in 6 weeks. and I would be utilizing the new set up there.

I am going with a 39/54 and a 12/23. I never pedal above a 21 so i am figuring on the 23 as an emergency.
The 21 is not a boast, I suck at spinning and just never use the lower gears, although i have to say that spinning on a trainer at home has helped a ton.
dont think my mail helps really

I have heard that the second loop takes two steps on the cassette. So my fear is that I have no bail out. I have to push the 25 or walk.

I would at least step up to a 12-27. The only difference is the two large cogs.

I would lose the 55. Do you seriously think you will pick up time by pedaling down the Keene hill? Leave your ego at T1 and coast.

I will be using 50/34 and a 12-25, but you are likely a much stronger cyclist. Then again, everyone is.

What Art says.

Hold off on dumping the 55…are you on 700 or 650’s? I always rode 11-23 - no issues.
