Gatorade in bulk

Given zeitgeist, I’ve promised my wife that I would try to find ways to save money. I received a bunch of gatorade single-serve powder packs at a recent race expo. I think they’re really handy and it seems a lot more economical than buying the bottles - anywhere from $1.50 to $2 a pop at some places. I can also adjust the strength depending on the workout which is nice. Does anybody know where I can buy them in reasonable bulk online (say one or two month supply)? Thanks!

You’re paying a ton more buying the single serve, just buy a tub of the powdered (real large tub at Sams/Costco) and measure out single servings into zip log bags…

We (PBN) carry the 3LB powdered Gatorade Endurance & you can also get another 10% off w/ the ST Discount (STWITCH entered in the CUSTOMER CODE box on the final check-out screen).

Also, if you’re in NYC & place the order today - you’ll have it in-hand tomorrow via UPS Ground. Let me know if you have any questions.

Just a warning: if you don’t use the big containers within a “reasonable” amount of time, it can turn to concrete from humidity.

Proud owner of 1/4 container of yellow/green concrete.

That’s pretty good, what’s that work out to on a cost per serving basis?

Brian-

That’s still 3x the cost of basic Gatorade at Costco in a similar-sized container. I add some Morton’s lite salt to mine on real hot days, but am not convinced that electrolytes makes much difference.

$1.78 per gallon ($150 for 84 gallons worth of powder) - that’s less than 36 cents per 24oz bike bottle…

X4 for the tubes at WalMart/Sam’s Club. One orange and one green will last quite a while. Watch out for the “red” flavor. It really stands out on a white bike.

Can you explain this.

Reseach is not conclusive re. the need for more electrolytes on race day, the cause of cramping, and if adding electrolytes leads to less cramping.

i’ve used the big cans (cardboard) of gatorade for several years, and i get it at wal-mart. since i don’t live by one, and not all carry the flavor i want, i grab several when i finally land on some. they’ve never coagulated in the unopened cans. for the open one, yes, to a certain extent, but not badly. i normally just stir the contents when i see it clotting, and that breaks it up again.
on portions: i saved a plastic scoop from one of the small (plastic) cans, as two scoops of that=what i need in a tall water bottle.

bottles of liquid concentrate to make 6 gallons is anywhere from around $10.00 to $13.00.

i think the liquid works better than the bulk powder. hard to beat.

do a quick search and you will find lots of online purchase options.

They sell powdered Gatorade Endurance at Costco, I have never noticed, how much does it go for?

Keep it in the refrigerator… dehumidifier = keeps it’s powdery-ness (is that a word?)

Do the math this may work out plus if you have a buddy in the Science industry you can knock off another 25%

just search Gatorade. I think it is 40 gallons for 100 bucks

I buy the powder in bulk at Wal-Mart, then divvy it up into little ziploc bags. Super tiny Ziploc bags can be found at a craft store.
