I tried a search for this, but could only really find mention of it in a Giro thread…
LG seems to make some pretty bold claims with this helmet. Anyone try one?
I liked my Giro Shield, but had a lot of issues with the visor coming off in transition, while riding, etc.
They have made bold claims AND it has been backed up by independent testing. It is faster than the Giro Air Attack.
Despite LG being in Canada, can’t seem to find anyone here stocking it, at least not in a medium…
I got this helmet for Hawaii and LOVED it!
For me it is very comfortable, aero, light, and cool. I couldn’t get it locally so I ordered off Amazon…a quick search show M available.
I see it in a few places in the US.
But $240 + shipping to Canada + import taxes…over $300…
http://www.artscyclery.com/descpage-LGCH13.html, they have the 2013 on closeout for $160, not sure about their sizes.
I look down a lot in aero, and that’s why I got it, and because its hot here in Arizona. Its very light and comfy.
Saw that, no sizes or colors listed at all, perhaps because I am in Canada. I see a few places say they can’t ship the helmet back to Canada…
Not necessarily saying their claims aren’t true…
But one thing I find odd is that they claim the fast design is based on the minimized frontal area, accomplished by having the large vent holes in the front, that allow the air to travel into the helmet and out the back.
OK, but when I look at pics of the helmet on riders heads, it seems pretty clear that any hair a rider might have on their head will block that airflow…, like the below pic.

From what I can tell, it’s more that there are very large ridges with what I’d call a second layer of ducting. Whatever it is, the helmet works well on a lot of people.

Where can one see the results of this testing?
Have it , love the styling and fit , aero is a bonus, but seems to fair well in reviews, WT test etc. Easily found in UK (Evans)
Thanks! That is a pretty funny story – we going to the water at the start of the swim and this guy asked me in a British accent where he should lineup. Friends on the pier start yelling at us for a picture, and it wasn’t until I posted the photos after the race that I knew it was Gordon Ramsay… What a nice guy!
Ironman is amazing.
I have one and used it at the tail end of summer into fall. I also have a Specialized Evade. I like the fit of the Course helmet better. Also, when going slow putzing around at 10-12mph, the Evade will not vent as well during the slow(er) speeds. I can imagine on long hilly days where the Course would be a more all around helmet in terms of aero and venting properties. At speed though, both helmets move a nice amount of air over you head, but I must say the winner for me is the Course here for venting.
I wanted the Evade for hot TTs, and Duathlons, but I figured I needed a new road helmet after two years and chose the Course for an all around helmet and for the hottest of days in Duathlon. The one thing you will find is the Course and the Evade are quiet helmets…meaning you don’t hear or notice the wind as it goes around your head. Both are much quieter than my Bell Volt or Giro Atmos. Also, in a head up or head down position, the Course is less susceptible to cross winds while I felt some push on the Evade while A/B testing in strong 25-30mph gusts head up or down.
Hope that helps

I’m also curious, I just don’t see it by looking at the helmet.
Try searching ERO tests or alphamantis tests. They have been the “go to” aero guys lately for tests on the newest equipment like the Course, P09 and Wing 57 helmets and such. However they don’t outright say that the Course is the most aero, but rather tell you that for the people they tested with the diff. helmets, the Course tested as fast or faster than some of the well known brands in aero helmets. As such the Course should be worth consideration for something like hotter weather for venting, while not giving up much aero factor compared to an Evade or some full on TT helmets. What you will also find is that …as usual, it depends how you sit on the bike and head position for YOU in your position. The helmet will find you is the way ERO kinda looks at things. They’ve tested everyone from Joe Schmoe to Craig Alexander, and the rest of their client list looks like a who’s who in cycling and Tri.

Looks can be deceiving and often are. I’ve seen some of the tests and I know it works very well. The evade has generally tested marginally faster, but again it completely depends on the individual. The nice thing as many have mentioned is that it is very well vented compared to other aero road helmets. I’ve definitely become a fan of what LG is doing helmet wise.
