Garmin Vector 3 Right Pedal not detected... HELP!

Glad to hear that changing the cap is working.

Hopefully this won’t be the case for you, but I actually tried that as well before I sent them back. It was working fine…but an hour and a half into my ride I got the error message again.

Thanks again for your advice! I’ll keep my fingers crossed… Sigh…

Update from my end, Duracell 357 batteries solved my dropout issues, no issues the last 2 rides.

Interesting! Thanks!

My vector 2’s were loaded with a whole combination of issues. Dropping out mid ride, left pedal not connecting etc. It took ages for them to finally work consistently. It really pisses me off. I’m looking forward to the day another company gives garmin an actual run for their money.

yeah… too bad Wahoo not it.

Make sure also to buy good batteries. I.e. don’t buy “Original Duracell” on Amazon. These are 90% cheap Chinese knock-offs. Even though the package looks original.

For a trust-worthy source I can recommend (no affiliation):

Also if you are having battery life issues I would strongly recommend making sure you are using SR44 batteries rather than LR44 batteries. The batteries are the same size and both are officially approved for use in the Vectors 3. The batteries do differ however in their chemistry which makes it easier to produce very cheap/low quality LR44s than SR44s. If end up with poor quality batteries you will drain them a lot faster.

I’d probably try to call them and see if they can solve your issues.

Oneday, they just started working perfectly and stopped dropping out but I will certainly call them if I have to in the future
.

The garmin watch, app and pedal integration is very good when it works. If another brand came out with the whole integrated package, then Garmin will be in trouble

Apologies for the delay. Yesterday we released a public beta for Vector 3 that address the known software issues that caused spurious right-sensor missing messages, poor connection behavior, and unexpected power dropouts. Please see the link below for details.

Thanks, Shawn. I just installed the update. Will keep you guys posted should the issues continue.

Shawn,

Is this update available via the Garmin app? I believe I just installed 3.0 via the app.

BTW, a drop of lube on my batteries solved 99% of issues. Still not quite as reliable/easy to pair as my Powertap hubs, but I’m hoping the new battery doors bring the pedals to that level.

Hi Physiojoe,

The beta is not available on the App. Currently the only way to push the beta is with a compatible Edge device. Thanks for reaching out.

Duracell 357 are SR44. Maybe Duracell manufacturing of silver oxide coin cells is consistent enough to recommend over other SR44 manufacturers?

Probably too early to really tell, but my first ride on 3.30 this morning was flawless. I had recently been having some occasional power drops, at least one in the 3 or 4 rides prior to today (had been on 3.00).
