Is it possible just to buy the transmitter piece without the strap? I bought a polar strap thinking my garmin strap was bad, snapped it on to the plolar strap and I still have the same problem of very high HR when I’m not moving then it jumps all over the place, I did replace the battery. Thanks
No it isn’t. But try Garmin support and see what that have to say.
It may not be the transmitter. I get intermittent problems with my Garmin HR strap. Sometimes it shows my HR go from 135 to 220. Spikes are normal, but mine will stay at 220 for a couple of minutes sometimes. Usually when I see it doing that, I take off the transmitter and throw the strap in the wash machine with a load of laundry. That usually does the trick for a couple of weeks.
Have you tried HR gel? I paired my Garmin hr monitor with the polar strap and now use hr gel. No issues since.
Certain shirts have static issues, mostly dri-fit stuff. I get the same issue with certain shirts.
Some say getting the strap area wet on the dri fit shirts can help remove the spikes.
This is the solution to your problem. For $34.

Agreed. I’ve had so many problems with the soft straps. I switched to the lower one and absolutely no troubles
I agree I’m using mine from my old 305’. Works great.
I just bought the Mio Link optical wrist band sensor. I used it on a 3.5 hr hike today and it works great. ANT link to my Garmin 910. Glad there is an alternative to a chest strap.

+1
Just got this also. Transmits ANT+ & BT4.0 simultaneously and no spikes.
