FYI if ever you are sending your Garmin in for service
Raythech offers an extended warranty on repairs/refurbished unit
So for example, the altimeter on my 910xt was not working, out of warranty. So it cost me $104 for a replacement
But for an additional $16 they give me a 1year warranty. Given the rate Garmin’s seem to break, I thought it was a good deal
My FR60, FR70, 310xt, 910xt and Edge 500 ended up going in for service. My 800 is the only one that has not been in.

Next time try contacting Garmin first. I complained on Twitter and they set me up with a free warranty replacement after my altimeter was stuck atop Everest via Raytech for no cost even though I was 4 months out of warranty.

I tried. I spoke to Garmin first, explained all the stuff I had tried (that I got here), bitched that it is not normal…blablabla…no budging.
I think Garmin makes innovative/cool product but they definitely have a quality problem.
