Is there going to be a new version for 2006 or are they sticking with the 301 as there highest model?
Somebody posted a link a few weeks ago to an Italian or German site that showed some new models. Basically, the same things they are putting out now, but much, much smaller. About the size of one of those Suunto watches.

I did have the link. It was to the Italian or German Garmin Distributor and they have since taken the pictures down. Sorry.

yes, they will have a Forerunner 305, I saw the italian website but I don’t have the link, sorry.
It actually looked like a watch instead of wearing a desktop on your wrist ;-). I’m sorry that I don’t remember any of the new features-it was hard to translate all the new features. Maybe someone else who saw it can remember the new features.
Maybe you could try posting the question to the Garmin news group at Yahoo Groups.
I don’t think the 305 is a replacement for the 301. The 305 looks like it’s built for cyclists.
There is a version (I think it’s just called the “Edge 305”) that is for cyclists and permanently mounts to the bike, however, the italian site also showed an updated version of the Forerunner, the Forerunner 305. I had the same question when I was looking into it. The Garmin website shows the Edge 305 but not the Forerunner 305.

Thanks all… I found a place that I could pick up the 301 for 189.00 after rebate for signing up for a credit card, but I’ve never been a big fan of the large watch/GPS unit. I’ll hold off for the 305.
