I am not an “outside the box” thinker when it comes to stuff like this but having trouble figuring out how to mount my Garmin Edge 500 on my bike. Was on the stem as usual but just got a torpedo mount and now that will not work. Does anyone know if the XLab computer mount will work with the Garmin mount or has anyone came up with a zip tie solution for the Garmin?
I had the x lab on Felt B10 with the Garmin 500 mount wrapped around it…worked fine. I didn’t like it off the stem cap so I zip-tied the XLab around the stem. It worked out nicely as the top of the Garmin was flush to the bottom of my torpedo-mounted bottle. It was also at perfect eye level in aero.
I’d take a pic but I’m having a a DA built up now. I’ll have to come up with something else as the integrated stem with the torpedo mount may make mounting a Garmin 500 challenging.
Sorry about the late reply, but the Garmin Edge 500 will fit on the XLAB Aero Computer Mount.
here are a few options
The black “rubber bands” that hold the Garmin mount on are nothing more that regular O-ring’s. You can go to the hardware store and get any length you need. Just make sure they are the same diameter. I think they were 2.5 or 3 mm. Using smaller O-rings opens the mounting possibilities to most post style devices.
