Garmin flanges snapped off

The mounting flanges finally both snapped off my 4 year old Garmin 500. Has anyone figured out a way to attach some kind of mounting mechanism to the bottom so it’s still useful as a head unit?

I’d grind down the existing plastic and just glue another one on. You can get one from an iPhone or similar phone case:

This one was glued on, from DCRainmaker:

Just curious…were you using it with a metal mount?

Nope. Either the plain Garmin mount it comes with, or a plastic Barfly.

Thanks Nick!

email garmin at social.support@garmin.com and ask them to replace it, it’s a known issue, they’ll probably offer to send you a refurb once you send yours in, or you can pay for it and get refunded when they receive it (have had to do this several times).
