Does anyone know for sure if the heart rate function on the 310xt is compatable with the 305 heart strap. I’ve gotten conflicting reports.
Yes positive. I have been using mine for a month solid.
Not sure, but my dealer told me the PowerTap HR strap is compatible with the 310XT, but I won’t be able to test it out until my 310XT arrives later this week.
Needs to be one of the NEW PT straps. Basically, it needs to be an ANT+ strap. So you can choose from a 705 strap (if such a thing exists), a Suunto ANT+ strap (what SRM uses as well), or a Saris ANT+ strap. All that matters is that it is ANT+.
Thanks Jordan. I’m not sure my strap is ANT+ compatible as my PT is two years old. How can I tell?

Suunto is not on it.
If there is a way to pair a suunto ant+ belt with a powertap ant+ version or vice versa, it is news to me. And I have definitely tried it both ways.
It will have the ANT+ logo on the back, near the battery cover. Mine does and I can also confirm it works with the 301XT.
My PT heart rate strap from 2007 paired instantly and works like a champ with my 310XT. Don’t know if its ANT+ or not, but it works just fine. My recorded heart rate looks just like it did with my FR305

Interesting that it does work because during the expo at the NYC Triathlon I asked one of the dealers if it worked and he said no. Maybe just trying to sell the heart strap for the 310xt. Now if I could only get my 305 to stop working I’d be able to justify the purchase. Thanks for the reply.
