lately, I am having trouble trying to post photos here. i have done this many times before successfully.
but now when I am composing a post and click on the ‘image’ button, I get a small red circle with a red slash through it (this is with IE explorer). anybody else get this problem? any idea why and how to fix this?
thanks.
(if you have same problem, see solution in my last post)
if you do that, will the photo visually display (via the real site where it is posted online) in the post? or will you simply have a text link to the photo?
Perhaps youve been doing tooo much typing on that friggin 400, click of the A/P and drive it like a real man, thats what we do on the jurrasic 3 holer, HA.
Have you tried switching to the Basic Editor after you’ve posted in your picture? The full address of the picture should be surrounded by … except with square brackets instead of angled. Copy the full text within the … and paste it into the address field of a new IE session. If your picture displays in that new IE window then it should work. Oftentimes there’s just a typo in the address or the syntax is messed up.
Go to the site of the photo. Right click and view source (or whatever it’s called–I’m on my iBook right now so can’t do that).
Copy the photo’s address from the souce and paste into the little mountain picture. That usually works when the regular cut/paste from the web address doesn’t.
Thanks for the reply, Cathy. But my problem was something else entirely. I know how to do the whole process, when it is supposed to work.
Here is the problem which your reply prompted me to try to again try to figure out: being a very close friend of bill gates, at his insistence, I installed his win xp service pack 2. In this upgrade, IE gets a very forceful pop-up blocker. It was this dang pop-up blocker that was blocking the url entry box for the image posting to pop-up. So I told bill gates to tell the the pop-up blocker to allow pop-ups only at this site and, voilla!, success.
