That doesn’t even qualify as boring, it looks downright annoying.
We used to do this in my High School for LaCrosse practice in the spring. It kept it interesting, but we were not running for three hours.
With stairs? Oh, that just sucks and it would take forever.
I imagine people would get pissed off at each other pretty quickly in such tight confines. I couldn’t imagine trying to power through the late miles and have to deal with squeezing into a door way to go up or down stairs.
