FUN FOR ALL! Help me name my new bike!

I am fresh out of ideas – the amount of mental energy I have exerted to come to a decision on which bike to buy has meant I have nothing left in the tank to decide on a name. So I am looking for inspiration from those who have provided so much advice and assistance – YOU!!!

My beautiful new bike is:

Colnago Asso – black with yellow writing

Campy Chorus

Mavic Kyseriums

Probably too good a bike for me, but who cares? This bike makes me want to train, and if I believe hard enough, just maybe I can go really fast on it……

On the naming side of things, all I can come up so far is…. KITT – remember Knight Rider with David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight and the indestructible car that talked? Lame, I know… The Black Knight – remember Monty Python’s Holy Grail, and the Black Knight who would never surrender or admit defeat. Sort of like I would like to think that I race, but hopefully without the stupidity and sense of when “enough is enough”. MJ or Jordan – because I want to fly too…

So you can see, I am in great need of help?

Let’s get creative!!

How about:

“Property of Ze Gopha”
or
“Made in America”
or
“Drop me, I’m a poser”
or
“insert clever name here”

Seriously though, congrats, sounds like a great bike.

Like boats, It needs to be a female name… how about

Xena

Let’s see, you have a hot black and yellow Italian bike built to sting the competition, so my choice is:

VESPA!

Vespa is Italian for wasp. Vespa also sounds like an action word like “go”!

I thought bumble bee would be more apropos, but the translation is weak: Bumble l’ape. Bee is ape. Still not the same.

Robert

PS. I am looking at a Colnago as well in the 007 color, so might use the same name. Hot bikes.

Name it JCC
.

Butt Buddy. At least you would hope so since you will be sitting on it a lot.

how about

Hornet del Tri-Tipo dell’oncia

or

Vespa del Tri-Tipo dell’oncia

kenny
.

Call it “Get out of the f@#$$%! way you wanker!” Then you’ll think people are referring to your bike and not you.

Sorry man, only joking. Couldn’t resist it.

Colnago “Hauling-O” Asso
.

Stink…Asso

Just kidding
.

Outta da way Asso
.

I just bought a Bianchi and put a Terry Butterfly saddle on her so she is named Puccini because of “Madam Butterfly”. So, might I suggest an Italian language tie in? How about:

Veloce - Fast in Italian
Mosca - Fly in Italian

Google has a great English to Italian translation tool at http://www.google.com/language_tools?hl=en

Hours of fun translating dirty words into foreign languages.

Also, look into the Italian operas for inspiration. Puccini has served me well so far!
