i’m between sizes on a sleeved wetsuit, size i wear in a sleeveless is too binding (even after all the tucking and assistance i can get) in shoulders, next size up works in shoulders, but is loose enough in body that water stays in…assume the shoulder size is the critical fit, and everything else has to become secondary to that ? yeah, thinking about a two piece, but kinda committed to where i am right now…is having water inside the suit with you necessarily a bad thing ? FWIW, i swim ~ 1:45 / 100 , so i ain’t no fish…
You need a different manufacturer/model.
Some suits fit differently. For example, if you are in the Orca line, I find them tight in my shoulders. I went from an Orca 3.8 to a TYR Hurricane and the fit in the shoulders was much better. Nineteen is also supposed to have a nice fit for those with bigger shoulders
anybody else got anything ?
Whether you go 1 piece or separates like De Soto, fit matters. Not all suits will fit your body type, just like some bike geometries or shoes will fit you better. Bikes will offer you a lot of different adjustments, but you get the wrong frame-size and there is just not much that can be done.

Water has neutral boyancy in water. As long as the suit isn’t scooping water through an opening, I doubt it’s creating additional drag. If that water is in the sleeves then it will sink you with every arm recovery, in the body not so much. It’s not ideal…ideally you would follow the advice above and search out another brand that fits you well.
But given your need to stay with this manufacturer and having to choose between binding, cramping arms/shoulders and carrying water in the body of the suit, I would carry the water.
that’s kinda what i think too; yeah in an ideal world, i’d have $400-500 and get something perfect, but considering where i am, think i go with shoulder comfort and forget it…
