Any one else out there that is privileged to have a new D6 having any trouble with the elbow pads slipping down? I have taken mine back to shop and had the carbon “roughed up” a little to prevent the slipage but still no luck. Every time I hit a big bump in the aeros they slip down. I am afraid of tighening them any more. Any one with solutions other than new bars all together?

I wasn’t aware that Fuji made a “D6 aero bar”?
Fuji doesn’t make the aero bar. Not sure what model you have on your bike but your local dealer should be using a TORQUE wrench when tightening the bolts. If it still slips, have them contact the bar manufacturer or our tech dept.
Hope that helps.
you are putting too much weight on the extensions, your weight should be on the pads. T = R x F
Loc-tite on bolt threads - Check
A little grease on the back of bolt heads - Check
(Sometimes the bolt binds on the clamping surface. Thus, the clamp in not torqued tight enough, but the torque wrench still clicks. Al to Al does this a lot.)
Torque wrench set correctly - Check
O.K. as far as I know all the “stock” D6 Professionals come with the Profile Cobra S carbon aeros, that’s what I have. The Aero bars themselves do not move it is the pads where you put all of your weight that slip. They slip because they are hard plastic clips that fasten on slick carbon bars. They only have one clamp holding with one allen bolt. You can torque it any way you want but when you hit a bump with your weight on them they slip. The shop took the pads off and attempted to “rough” the carbon bars to prevent slipage, that solution failed. They will replace the bars with whatever I want, but I really like the bars, just wish I didn’t have to worry about the pads dropping. Met one guy at local tri with same bike and said he had same problem the very first time he took it for a spin. It’s not a “D6” problem so I should have not even used that title, it is a Profile Cobra S problem. So sorry for confusion.

Same thing with the Jamis T1 which has that same set of bars/wing (which I love). I’m interested in a solution to either, especially since in order to reposition the pads horizontally one has to completely remove them first
I’m slowly learning to anticipate bumps and unweight my arms but shouldn’t have to do that.
I had that problem on the Jamis Cobra bars/wing. SLipped when set by LBS (presumably with a torque wrench), so I tightened it with an allen wwrench I carry on rides. Ended up cracking the basebar. Sold the wings, threw the base bar away, and got a Blackwell Research Concord. Much happier now.
I had this same problem and know of 3 others that had it. We ended up super gluing one and that stayed. All of us torqued to the right spec and it still slipped. We then went past the torque spec and the bar would end up cracking. I switch to Vision and couldn’t be happier. Needless to say I don’t think I will ever ride profile design again (at least their carbon products)
Superglue… So much for adjustability then! It’s too bad, because when climbing, the ends of that pursuit bars are so much more comfortable than others I’ve tried (like whatever is on the 2010 Cervelo P2).
An idea… Would friction paste work? If one moves where the pads were attached, does the paste leave any residue?
with all the bars out there, there is one that will be just a comfortable without giving you issues. I had those same extensions and gave them to my fiancee who is significantlysmaller. she hasn’thad them move on her at all.
