Fuel Belts?

Looking to get reviews. I use a camel back right now for long runs. What do you folks think?

Love 'em. Anything from 5K to 40K.

I use mine primarily for my long runs. Just got the new 10 oz. bottles. Can’t think of anything better to use. Love mine.

I prefer the camelbak… I use the Aerobak, I think it’s called… the bladder has a divider in it which keeps the water from sloshing too much.

I tried the fuelbelt, but it’s not enough for LONG runs, and I’ve found it tends to move around a bit, or leave marks on my gut.

I use the Amphipod race belt set-up. It holds up to 6 bottles, has small gel bottles and all of the mounting brackets are moveable and removable so the possibilities are endless. The bottles snap in instead of always having to futz with the elastic on the fuel belts. Still have a fuel belt collecting dust in the drawer, but plan to give it to some needy triathlete at an event next season.

The Amphipod systems just rock. Far better than the fuel belt in almost every way - bigger bottles, better valves, better belt, better pouch, click in instead of elastic, totally modular. I bought one with 4 bottles, only use two for most training, so I took the other two brackets and put them on my camelback.

I use the Camelbak MULE for long rides, and a 6 bottle Fuel Belt for long runs. The Fuel Belt is better for weight distribution during runs. I bought a few of the 10 oz bottles, but I think they are too heavy for the belt.

I think the Camelbak is too bouncy and unwieldy for running. The Fuel Belt was the best thing I ever did for myself to make long runs(10+ miles) bearable. The biggest problem I had was weaning myself off the thing for long races.

i have like a 3 year old fuel belt and i love it. i use it for any run over 1:15 for both liquids and gels. sometime i’ll start with gatorade and refill with coke at the 2hr mark. it never bounces - in fact, i never even know it’s there until i drink. i highly recommed it.

I have the fuel belt and it’s great. I use it for my long runs 8 miles and up. If I’m running long enough to empty the 4 bottles I keep a regular bottle in my car, stop and fill up, just take the tops off before you get there.

I found the problem with the camelback is that I sweat too much underneath it. Sweat under plastic backing is not a comfortable feeling.

I’ll recommend any of the fuel belts that have the four little bottles rather than carrying just one bigger bottle. I found them much more stable with the four little ones.

Havn’t used the others but I love my fuel belts for long runs.

Ditto the sentiments on the Fuelbelt…very little to no bounce, and with the 8-bottle version I can go as long as I’ll ever need to or just pop a couple bottles in there for shorter runs.

check out the amphipod, it looks like a better design than my fuel belt.

Fule belt is great for long runs.
