i am thinking of purchasing the fsa flat base bar and brake levers. are they the business?
I’ve got about 1000 miles on mine so far and love them. Comfortable and good fit. Brake levers are gine also, no performance issues at all with mine. My only minor negative is the integrated bar end plugs for the brake levers. They do not attach very securely. Lost one the first time out. Now I check them religiously.
Just make sure you DO NOT over tighten the brake lever allen screws. They will strip…
Also, can any confirm the brake cable options. Will only FSA work?
I use the vision tech base bar with the profile design quick stop 2 brakes and it works like a charm

I just got back for Interbike in Vegas and I feel the VisionTech base bar is a great option for a base bar (I actually will be getting one myself as soon as I get some money, lost a lot in Vegas).
However, the brake lever that I am planning on getting, and should be on everyones list of items to checkout and get are the new carbon brake levers from Blackwell USA.

These have an internal return spring and so the feel is awesome. The VisionTech levers are cool looking, but without a return spring in them they just don’t feel as nice.
My LBS has these in. They are from the ‘stuff John Cobb designed but couldn’t afford to make’ collection. They are light, but large. The return spring is a nice add, but I am not that impressed. I like the Vision ones better.
just a thought…but are you associated with Blackwell somehow or perhaps used to be with BicycleSports St. Paul?
Yes, I use to run the St. Paul Bicycle Sports. Howeverm I am now just another customer that is looking for the best products for my Triathlon/TT bike. Just take some time and check out the Blackwell stuff, it is nice stuff at great prices. That is all i am saying.
