i changed my da9 cranks to these and immediately i noticed that i could no longer use the 53x23 and 53x21 as the chain would fall down to the 39. even the 53x19 was still noisy. i switched to a 52 ring whiched helped a little as the 19 quieted down. anybody else have these problems? the rest of my drivetrain is all DA9 including the BB. i use a 650c p3. any suggestions how to solve this?

yeah i figured that was the problem. what can i do to fix it? change BB? do bottom brackets have different widths? maybe i didn’t install the crank correctly?

Hmm, I’m with you guys. I think it may be the bottom bracket is the culprit here…
Tom, my BB is octalink and so is the crank–so what’s wrong with my setup here?

Do you have the Ultegra or DA bottom bracket? Installation of the DA BB is easy to screw up. most people do better with the Ultegra.
I never did it, but it seems possible to install a BB backwards. That would screw up the chain line for sure.
