After a couple of years doing mainly road miles I am going back to triathlon and time trialling as my fix. I currently run Dura Ace 10 speed cranks in 172.5mm on my road bike however I am pretty keen to move back to 175mm cranks on the TT bike I am building. I used these in the past and really liked them. Instead of simply going to DA 175mm I thought I would look around at other options. I like the look of the FSA Krono TT crank set however before I made a decision I thought I’d seek some ST opinions.
da7800 is a really good crankset! If I didn’t had Ergomo I wouldn’t use anything other!
If you’re running dura-ace as shifters don’t get the chrono chainring it sucks. I used it for the first half of this year and i couldn’t figure out why shifting was harder. I read up on here for awhile and figured out that it doesn’t have the plates to bunch the chain up which is why it was practically impossible to change. Because of that i was losing a ton of time on hilly courses because i had to stop pedaling to make the change.
I just bought a 56/42 dura-ace chainring set and used it last weekend. I absolutely love the difference. I run an srm so i don’t have the whole crankset. But the problem would still be there because it is the chainring that has the problem not the actual crank part.
