FS: HED 3 Front, clincher w/ Tufo Tubular-Clincher

I take care of my gear and wheel is in good condition. Carbon is like new, tire has only 3 races on it (low milage). Wheel is slightly out of true (it came like that from HED), but only rubs if you ride with your brake pads close in. I like this wheel but have too many toys and need to clean house. Asking $400.

Bump. Are you kidding me?! STers LOVE this wheel! How many tours did Lance win using one of these? If the price is too steep for 'ya, make an offer…

If you need info on the seller check out www.ryanlevinson.com, search ST for my posts, or on ebay I’m sdrhino.

Thanks,
Ryan

650 or 700?

700c of pure speed!

Do you have any measurement from HED (or otherwise) for how out of true the wheel is?

According to mechanic at LBS wheel is at most 5mm out of true laterally in one spot but “totally raceworthy”. Wheel checked by James at B&L Bike and sport (858-481-4148). He said feel free to call if you want to talk w/ him directly or please let me know if you have any other questions.

A few have posted with similar qustions:

  1. IIRC I got the wheel directly from HED in 2003 or 2004. They had a few that were not perfectly true but less expensive. This was one of those. It was used only for time trials the first year (maybe 4 or 5 races total?). The next year I focused more on track and switched to Zipp (for a wheel better suited for sprinting) so the HED was only used for 2 Olympic distance triathlons (borrowed by a friend). I have kept it as a spare but I seriously have too many wheels now (spares for the spares…) so have no need for it. I love my Zipps and I ride Vittoria tires so I don’t have a need for a HED with a Tufo. That’s where you come in…

Make an offer!
