Damn Shawn! Why couldn’t you (or wifey) have a larger head ![]()
Why is everyone scrapping these new helmets after all the hype and anticipation of their release?
Do they suck that bad?
No, it’s a Euro spec helmet and thus not CPSC certfied. The US legal ones are coming into stores now…

Still available

Is this helmet CPSC certfied? Can you use it in USA triathlons?

Im not trying to burn the guys selling these things, but it’s a safety issue…and financial…
Taken from GOOGLE reagrding this helmet.
NOTE: we have been informed that USAT are NOT allowing this helmet to be used in triathlon events in the US as it apparently does not meet CPSC standards. It does, however, meet EN1078 and is, therefore, perfectly legal for events run in this country under the BTA rules…
ok…let s relax here… tons of people have the GIRO ADVANTAGE 2 helmet since about 3 weeks now. It s available at many many many many many store and some people got the wrong size as it runs smaller than usual…
if it s a advantage 2… yes, it is CPSC certified and i have one right in front of me with all the papers and everything…allowed anywhere in the world in any kind of races…
that’s obviously old information. as jonnyo said, if you have the current version of the helmet or bought it from a US-based store, it’s absolutely legal by USAT rules.
The one being sold in this listing is NOT a current one and is therefor NOT legal by USAT rules.
