Finally, I also have a 1998 Specialized FSR Ground Control moutain bike. Brand new seat post, grips, brake pads, tires, cables, housing, chain, cassette, and a fairly new Rock Shox Tora 318 u-turn. Fork converts on the fly from 85-130mm, has lock out, and adjustable rebound. Comes with spare Manitou stock fork (80mm, nothing adjustable). It’s a 17in, or equivalent, I think. Both shocks work fantastic. Frame is rock solid, and it climbs like a goat, and LOVEs to downhill. Caveats: needs new shifters, but they work fine- should have bought those XTR shifters and put them on this! The fork was rebuilt by the Rock Shox factory, and the idiots lost the lockout cap. It has some scratches. Not really that motivated to sell, much more invested than I’m asking- but I suddenly have medical bills piling up. $450 + 1/2 shipping. This would make a better than entry level bike, it’s great for everything- and could easily be converted to a killer downhill bike.
