The year’s prior model (2005) purchased gently used in 2006. They are very lightly used, esp. the rear wheel. Front wheel was used in 3 triathlons (1 ironman), and 2 40k TTs. Rear was only used in one sprint tri b/c I bought a tubular disc here on ST. I don’t want to race long distance with two sets of tires/tubes/tools, so am selling the clincher set. Tires are Contis Grand Prix 3000 (very gently used). Pics to follow.
Interested in these wheels - will you post or send pics? Is there a cassette and/or carbon skewers? Can you give me any further history on how the previous owner used them? Any other details on their condition?
Brynn is my husband and those are my wheels. I think I got them just before SOMA HIM 2006 and rode the set there as well. Previous owner stated that they had fewer than 200 miles on them, and I think the condition they were in showed that to be true. In the interest of full disclosure, one of the decals is slightly smudged and another has a a small scratch. Decals are easily/cheaply replaced through Zipp if it bothers you.
Thanks for photos and info. I had a few follow up questions: type of hubs (& cassette compatibility), type of rims (& brakepad compatibility), and besides the decals everything else perfect (no crashes, etc.)?
Good question. These hubs accept Shimano cassettes. Braking surface is metal alloy. The brakes already on your bike should work fine unless you plan on descending mountains, then you may still want something that can take additional heat. Yes, besides the decals all is perfect, no dents or dings in the carbon. No bent spokes. Wheels are true.
