FS: 2013 Reynolds Strike Carbon Wheelset - Triathlon/Road Bike

For sale is a brand new, never ridden, set of Reynolds Strike wheels. The only reason I’m selling them is because I got a set of Flo 60/90 wheels for Christmas and I then purchased a Quintana Roo Illicito that had these Reynolds on it stock. Since I have no need for two sets of race wheels I’m willing to let this set go. From an online retailer you can get these wheels for around $1,900, I’m only asking $1,700. Feel free to make me an offer. The wheels came with the QR decals on them already and I left them on incase someone whats to buy them for their QR Tri bike. If you would like them off it only takes a hairdryer and about 30 seconds of your time. Please don’t hesitate to email me with any questions. Below you will find the information from the manufactures website.

The Reynolds Strike C Clincher Wheelset tells you exactly what its intentions are with its name – to strike. Its carbon fiber construction lends itself directly to high levels of responsiveness, while its deep 66mm profile aids in minimizing drag. So, whether you’re aiming to quickly cover ground in Zone 3, or the time has come to jump off of the front, the Strike C aid your objective with sheer speed and reactivity.
With the Strike, Reynolds also addressed an all-too-common ailment to carbon wheels – poor braking. The solution was found through the development of what Reynolds calls its Crynogenic Glass Transition Braking System (CTg). Essentially, this is a patented braking design that required both a redesign of the brake track laminate and pads. Accordingly, CTg uses a temperature-conductive laminate at the brake track’s transition points that withstands higher levels of heat than typical carbon laminates. And when paired with Reynolds’ polymer Cryo Blue brake pads, braking becomes more predictable and requires less finicky feathering on fast descents.
For the actual build, Reynolds used 16 radial-laced spokes in the front and 20 spokes in a one-cross, drive-side pattern at the rear. These have been laced to Reynolds Racing straight-pull hubs, and the wheels attach with steel-shafted quick-release skewers.

I’m also open to trading the wheels for a set of HED 3 clinchers plus some cash. Make me an offer!

Price reduced to $1,600 for this brand new set of Reynolds Strike wheels! Will trade for HED3 clinchers + some cash! Thanks for looking!

BUMP - Make me an offer.

heads up that what you are selling is the old design 2013 strikes 66mm deep internal nipples u shape that is on the market

The new 2014 strike slg is a new design buldge wheel with external nipples and 25mm of braking track and 62mm deep.

big difference of value and product between the two… i saw your add on ebay. you could get in trouble if you sell those as 2014 new design product…

They are? I bought the bike in 2014 so I assumed they were the 2014 model. I’ll have to measure them to see if they are 62mm or 66mm. They look just like the ones listed on Reynolds site for 2014, I apologize if these are the 2013s. I really appreciate the heads up! I’m certainly not trying to con anyone. I’ll get the posts changed.

Changes made to my post above. These are brand new 2013 Reynolds Strike wheels. Thanks for the heads up Jon!

Please feel free to make an offer. Cheers!

Its one thing to point out what seemed to be an innocent mistake in a description to an ad…nothing wrong with that. And in this case, you probably helped the seller avoid some potential selling issues. Good deal.

But, its not cool to point out that that exact item can be found cheaper elsewhere. I see ads on here literally every day where the products are priced higher than Ebay or even online retailers. If you don’t want to purchase at the asking price, then don’t…but it isn’t fair to the poster to specifically direct others who are looking to other sites that may offer a better deal. This really should have been sent via pm

2 things, my only intention was to inform the seller. it was obvious that he didnt know. it s a honest mistake but i was concern he could get in trouble on ebay. he dosnt deserve to get in trouble for a mistake

as for pricing, it s 2 different models… it s not about where to find wheels, it s simply a issue of 2 model at different prices as set by reynolds.

and i thought a bump would be worthy. I have work for reynolds for 4 years, i dont want to buy those wheels but wanted to make sure he knew. i already have a pair of those wheels and they are one awesome set…i highly recommend them to anyone that is looking at purchasing them. They are light…solid as a rock with no weight limit. i had 240lbs rider on those.
