Frustrated no parts avail. rant!

Monday it’s a beautiful day so I sneak out of work early for a ride and end up snapping off my rear derailluer.

Pissed off…I walk back to the main road and get picked up pretty quickly and get a lift back to the truck.

Make a couple calls to some local shops - knowing it would be a long shot if anyone had one. No one does.

Check out derailluerhanger.com and out of 200 or so they have a couple that look close. Follow up
and none work.

Call Litespeed and out of their whole enterprise they don’t have one anywhere. Production in “a couple weeks”

Had to pull the TT bike out of it’s hibernation last night. I knew I needed a backup road bike!

So five days later I have a nice looking Litespeed Vortex hanging in the basement and no idea when I can put it
back on the road.

(…whenever I do find them I’m going to buy 2)

AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!

Consider yourself lucky. Had that been a Cervelo, you might be frame shopping right now.

hmm, cervelo road bikes all have replaceable hangers.

the TT bikes don’t but since they aren’t intentionally
delicate replaceable hangers its unlikely it would have snapped off =)

When it first happened that’s exactly what I thought I’d be doing!

…lucky to not be shopping but disappointed I can’t find a $30 part!

You could be a man about it and just go single speed and quit your bitchin’

Lemme see if I can track one down for you. What year Vortex is it?

A REAL man would go fixie!

Bought it in 2007 / 2008 time frame…receipt is at home somewhere!

I PM’d you pictures of the actual piece(s)

…any help would be greatly appreciated.

That’s the same hanger that is current. I’ve got one for you.

That’s awesome…I’ll PM you address and you can give me payment instructions!

Very much appreciated.

Yeah, not delicate at all. No way a Nike T-shirt getting caught in the cassette would cause one to snap off.

Wife threw her shirt at me in the middle of an interval. She missed and hit my bike. It was a costly miss. The shirt survived and is still worn today. Nike makes some good stuff.

Did the shirt get caught in the derailleur and pull it into the spokes?

Yep, that’s what happened. But saying a Nike shirt destroyed my carbon frame sounds better.
