Can anyone point me toward a source for a front brake ONLY, and not a set of brakes? (preferably Campy) — or should I just give up and buy a cheap set on eBay and eat the rear?
Also, does anyone know of a retailer who has the red Saeco limited-edition Arione saddle for sale?
Thanks, Keith
I have seen individual Cane Creek BRS200SL’s on eBay. Very nice, stupid light brake.
If you want cheap, I have an old set of single pivot brakes. Free to a good home.
That Cane Creek is tasty, indeed, but $$$$ new — about the same price as the new Record brakes.
Does an old single-pivot provide decent stopping power like a dual-pivot? or about the same as the old center-pull delta-types?
I find I have plenty of stopping power with the Cane Creeks. The only problems are having to adjust (with an allen wrench) them for different wheels sometimes. I was using them on my Syntace front end, including Syntace Space Control levers. I jut put on a new Visiontech front end, with their levers. The Visiontech levers are smaller and thinner, so I’ll have to see how they feel.
I have a Zipp front for sale to match your Zipp rear, email me offline:

I wish I was fast enough to justify that brake. It looks great.
Actually, it kinda looks a bit big and clunky to me. Take a look at the modolo kronos. It is tiny and sweet, but everyone says it doesnt work, breaks, and is expensive (if you can find one). Oh well. My favorite is the Hooker brake which is a similar brake to the Campy delta, but smaller and lighter. Im not sure how it stops though when you are going down the big mountains. You might just need to resort to the flintstone method…I sure hope those carbon soled shoes dont wear though…
