Friday Afternoon: Mother's Day Weekend Plans

Well, given that Mother’s day is on Sunday, I decided that the optics of blowing off in the morning for any form of training may not sit well with my family, so I moved my rest day to Thu, moved the Sat Long run to Friday morning and moved the Sun long ride to Sat morning. So ended up running a hilly 26 K 2 hour run this morning for 6:45 to 8:45 am, ending at my office. Tomorrow early morning, 4 hour bike, ~4000 ft of climbing and 115K total distance. Looks like a bunch of my training partners, many who have young families decided to go with the same plan. Sunday, rest and treat my wife to a great day (I Hope  ). My son and I have some plans up our collective sleeves. Also heading over to my parent’s place. My mother insists that she wants to cook for us on Mother’s day. Go figure. I guess the job of being a Mother never ends, even if you are tending to a 38 year old triathlete son !

What’s everyone up to. Anyone racing this weekend ? If so good luck.

This weekend is a bit of a wash out. I’ll do an hour and half ride with the wife today after work. Tomorrow is yard day - cut grass, open pool, clean out garage etc. Was supposed o do this last weekend but got rained out. Either do a short run or a short ride on Sunday morning and then it’s own to Kingston to visit my parents for Mother’s Day.

Big production for Mother’s Day on Sunday for the wife. (Father’s Day around the corner). However I do plan a 100 mile ride Saturday followed by a 1 minute run.

…yes the payback for Mother’s day is indeed the upcoming father’s day weekend in June. There is a family weekend at the Muskoka tri planned for that weekend

Its not mothers day related, but tomorrow I working at the special olympics. I’ll run early.

It,s my 52nd birthday today. Sunday is Mom’s day and my 23 wedding anniversary. Thats a busy weekend.Sat Swim and 40 mile bike. Sunday LSD 12 miles run early morning. Hope for warmer weather this weekend.

I’m a mom so I get to train on Mother’s day. My son and I are going for a bike ride in the afternoon (He’ll be wearing his new Fdjeux.com kit I got him in Paris). I’ll be going solo for a long run in the morning. Blew off a bike race on Mom’s day because I want to see more of my kid than that would have allowed.

Oh yeah, I’m also a daughter so there’s a brunch in there somewhere…

My Mom is in Kansas, so I’ll call her Sunday AM.

Today: Already ran 40 minutes.

Saturday: 112 mile race simulation ride with the boys, followed by a 30 minute run.

Sunday: Ride 3 hours + run 45 minutes; 60 minute open water swim in the afternoon.

Mom rocks and bought my Dad & I tickets to watch the M’s play the Yankees on Saturday evening, so that will make up most of the Mother’s Day weekend plans. This way I can get in my 70+ mile ride with my training partner

Then she is letting me get my 50-60mi ride with a buddy and long run out of the way on Sunday morning before our family dinner.

My Mom Rocks!
