Anyone using or know of a decent word processing freeware program. I just realized my “new to me” computer hasn’t got anything more spphistcated than wordpad. Which I’ve never used. Looking for freeware because I use word processing about 2x a year. No need to spend dough on a little used function.

If you grab and install Ubuntu Linux:

It comes with OpenOffice pre-bundled. :slight_smile:

OOo is a great app though.

OOo = OpenOffice.org

I downloaded this onto my 14 year old daughter’s computer several months ago. I’ve never used it but it must be great since she has never complained about using it nor has she ever even asked me any questions about it. She says its very similar to MS Word. She doesn’t have any problems moving files back and forth from computers running MS Office.
