i’ve been mileage challenged the past 3 months due to some odd knee issues. maybe i did too much this spring.
i’ve put down very few running miles since the end of March. yes the pounds found some new places to grow.
the knees have settled down nicely however and i’ve logged 32 running miles in the past 6 days.
when i first started doing multisport 17 years ago and working past some pretty difficult physical issues i discovered the sensations that accompany running that just didn’t hit me when biking or swimming. i felt a couple of those on the second run today. and i also feel and see the excess falling away again. this is good.
yes there is freedom through running.
I agree. I haven’t beena able to run since November. I did a 3 mile run last week and the weight of the world was finally lifted off my shoulders
I’m even really looking forward to my 2 mile run this afternoon and my 1 mile run on Thursday. (I used to think that the hassle of changing clothes etc just wasn’t worth the 2 miles).
Hopefully the extra pounds will start to go away.
I love to swim, but I’d give it up completely if I could run 9 miles every day!
Biking, well, I can do without it all together. It adds stress to my life
I completely agree with you. “Runner’s high” hits me much more noticeably following a run vs. a bike or swim. Sometimes there is nothing better than to just RUN; no HR, no watch, just RUN.
so you should be all set by adding a little complication with the bike and then throwing it over your shoulder on the run
go get 'em.
