The link is up for the free GU swag if you’ve qualified for Kona:
Sweet!!! Thanks for the link.
I sent them an email asking if they would extend this offer to clearwater qualifiers as well. Will post when I get a response. Never hurts to ask.
Wow!! Thanks for posting the link. I love Gu. Patty
$200 swag for 2000 athletes? that could be a half million dollar campaign - what is the profit margin on a $1.25 packet of rice syrup?
Bummer… It’s not if you qualified…it’s if your going. I qualified Sunday but have to pass this year. The offer is only good if your going . I could still use the Gu
Join Team Gu if they offer it up again next year … best $195 I’ve spent this year (well, not really, but I haven’t had to worry about nutrition since the beginning of the year).
What did you get as a member of their team?
A lot! If you are the manufacturer. Not very much if you are the dealer.
I would have to guess that the package is the most expensive part. As with ALMOST all food products, you are mainly paying for marketing.
While GU can afford to give away product, I assure you that their dealer can not. Food items are some of the lowest profit margain items in your LBS.
I got this package in 2005 and these guys rock! Highly recommended.
Are there any other such deals out there for Kona athletes?
I faxed the form to the today and already got a confirmation email back.
Got a big box from GU yesterday, great stuff and very generous of them. Hope everyone who could signed up for this offer.
