I think the new Fred Thompson talk radio show starts today. Does anybody have any expectations of how this show will go?
Personally I am a big fan of Fred. He is the only person running for public office that ever got a dollar from me. I think he is a good representation of the conservative base. Although I may not agree with everything he says, I agree with alot more than I disagree with. I am looking forward to listening to his show.
I think Thompson is not aging well. I think he would have stood a bigger chance in the primaries if he was 10 years younger. This isn’t to say anything about his politics (though I disliked his comments at the convention…but he did what he had to do, i guess), only that he isn’t very energizing.
I wish the best for him and his show, however. I’d much prefer a conservative show lead by Thompson than what’s currently out there.
I agree with your assessment of Fred as the candidate. I think he suffered from people expecting him to be the DA from L&O. He couldn’t live up to those expectations. So he will never be the candidate of choice anymore simply because of his appearance, rather than his policies.
I always liked him on Law & Order.
