Okay, okay I know you shouldn’t judge a book by blah, blah, blah. But who is this all smiley, tow haired family guy and what the hell are ‘psychophants’? Then we’re treated to a fractured fairy tale version of human pre-history. What was the average life span in 10000 BC (altho Rachel Welch looked pretty fit) anyway? Coupled with a full complement of proverbial studies that ‘may sho, can lead to,…’ and unnamed ‘experts’. This is one of my favorites - ‘Studies have shown an increase in mortality when weekly caloric expenditures exceed 4000 calories.’ What studies, showed what? 4000 cals, that’s about a long ride. I suppose a little citation would have interrupted the ‘flow’ of the article. I know a steady diet of fluff binds me up.
Finally we’re left with something about antioxidants, omega-3 fats, and complex carbohydrates. Let me try this – it hurts to excerise a lot, especially when you get older. You don’t really need it and you can be healthy if you just eat right (whole foods, lean meats, take your vitamins) and oh yeah…consult your doctor.
Maybe I’m too wound up about that tdf business.
