Francois, IMF pro start list

Francois and others,

It might be a bit early for this, however any thoughts (or inside info) on how this past weekends “race of attrition” might affect the Ironman Florida start list?

Just looking at some names this morning that didn’t even finish the bike:

Lessing
Andersson
Bell
Van Lierde
McRae
Zack
…

Then those that didn’t finish the run:

Chabaud
McCormack
Zyemstev
Rhodes

These are just a few names that caught my attention… Man, that list is long… Must have been some ridiculous conditions.

but i think there is one name there which is more remarkable than any other pro listed

is this right? this is one hell of a comeback if this is true.

She finished 2nd at The Big Kahuna Triathlon in September so she must be doing OK.

Perhaps due to the type of cranks he raced on. Shimano, Campy, FSA, or something else. That poor company better hope nobody finds out. :slight_smile:

Thats a pretty impressive start list for a non kona or german ironman! That will be a good one to watch on ironmanlive. Will francois break away on the bike? When was Lessing’s name added?

that’s about the funniest thing I have heard you say Francois. The reality of it is that you need to do your race, do that and barring any unforseen mechanicals (you’ve already had your lifetime quota of those) you’ll have a good race. Best of luck.

Why do we, as triathletes, have to keep relearning this lesson? Seems to me I heard this years and years ago from folks like Pigg, Allen, Scott, etc. in the earlier days.
