Francois: about your shiny helmet

Sorry! Now that I have your attention I was wondering what thought of the Louis Garneau Chrono that I seem to remember you have.

I was thinking of getting one for a 12-hour TT in August because I suspect it will be cooler and more comfortable than a headfairing. It kind of reminds me of the old Bell Vortex, which was a really nice, aero helmet. So:

  1. How far does it stand up at the back (snigger)?
  2. How high does it sit (relative to, say a Giro Pneumo or Atmos)?
  3. Are there any unusual fit features (since I’ll be ordering over the 'net, I want to make sure I get the correct size)?

Cheers

I hate the fact that the outer sheel seems fragile especially towards the tail end. The black one looks nice though and the fit was ok. I felt I looked like a dork in it as the forehead profile is massive and opted for a Limar chrono instead…

Isn’t the black or blue one the Rocket?

This is the one I mean

He has not use it long enough to know if it is any good
.

I didn’t race with it as I have a rudy project TT helmet now.
I guess in the UK in august, you may hit nearly 20c, so the Chrono should do

  1. not much. pretty short
  2. you do not look like a mushroom with it…quite neat
  3. overall, a nicely made helmet but the tail could be longer.

Thanks mate.

Right, that’s my helmet sorted, I suppose I should go do some training!
