Well, I have enjoyed reading the recent post on France. It turns out that I am moving back there in 2 weeks after 10 years in California. I was a cyclist when I lived there but became a Triathlete in the US.
One thing that I am wondering is if I will be able to used my Tri bike (full tri setup with one piece bar and bar end shifters) for races there. It seems that there is quite a bit of ITU racing.
That would be a shame to not be able to race in my beautiful custom Serotta !
How dare you blame France for the blasphomy of the UCI and their retrogrouch attitude to bicycles and technology…France is the has nothing but the best of the best, and the Maginot Line was a great idea and money well spent too, Eifel tower…quite useful…this really frosts my shorts…I am going to go home and eat some Goose liver…
Not to worry, there are lots of non-drafting races in France.
For more info, you can hook up to the forum of OnlineTri at http://www.onlinetri.com/phpBB2/index.php (I assume you speak French, given your first name).
You can always sign up for EmbrunMan or IronmanFrance if you want to do non-drafting races

Oh…sell your Serotta for a Look…
What does the UCI have to do with ITU races? I am starting to understand the things people are saying about you.
If you cant catch lame internet humor…you wont get along well on ST…facts have very little to do with the day to day here…and yes, I honestly find France to be and have been a pathetic country that has never been able to manage on its own…they owe America a HUGE debt of gratitude for MANY things…and their behavior with Iraq and the UN would cause me (if I was in charge but I am not) to ban all French goods from US soil till they paid us back for saving their ass in WWI and WWII…but like I said, I am not in charge…and that has nothing to do with me not doing IMFrance…oh…and another fact…I would not sell a bike from Ben for any other bike, especially if it is a custom. ITU, UCI…what ever…in either case they dont like “funny bikes” (not like USCF does for that matter).
Man you are funny… I paid my dues to the US, I am moving back with a US passport and 3 US made bikes ! But sorry, I had to put some Italian components on some of them…
I am kidding - just razing Lionel especially after the whole thread about tri bike manufacturers v. road a while back when Slowman, Paul Levine and Pk racing all got into it.
Saw a few at IM MOO and they were beautifully made. They were very similar to what you see on Paul Levine’s site interms of geometry. For all I know they were probably designed by him
I was contemplating going to PK but somehow managed to get to a point by trial and error that works for me. A bike designed for me alone is a bit of a goal of mine, even though I own 2 Cervelos right now.
Um, didn’t France help us gain independence from Britain in the revolutionary war? Would we even be the USA if not for the French? Maybe we actually owe them.
aerobars with bar end shifters are ok at any race in France as long as it’s not a Grand Prix (both tri and du) race where even though AGers will race draft free, you are required to race with regular bars.
that leaves pretty much 400 races a year you can do with your set up
more than enough
I want to be the first on ST to thank Adam for railing Eve…with out that horney bastard we would all be…um…monkeys? Hell, I dont know but I do know that ever picture I have ever seen - Eve was HOT and I would hit it too…
I’d like to thank the snake for suggesting to Eve to eat that apple to make Adam horney…otherwise, Adam would still be watching TV in Eden and would have never realized how hot Eve was…
I think you should make sure and sign up for IM China as soon as IM releases a date. Also, make sure you update us every day on how fast you’ll be at the race. I love to hear how much of a dominating factor you will be.
