Frames - most bang for the buck

…it may not be aero tubing but can you beat this price for a legitimate tri/TT frame? It makes me think that most frames are way overpriced.

I bought the Wheeler Ti frame off this site and it is great. Fits me well and looks good. I’d never tried to purchase anything like a frame without seeing it first but the price was so good for a ti frame that I figured if it was not what I wanted I’d sell it off or put some old components on it and use it for the trainer. It ended up replacing my Cannondale which is now my “beater” bike. Chucks has very good prices if they have something you need. It may not be fresh off the Interbike floor but it is all pretty good stuff for a lot less money. I’m using the money that I saved on some flights to Hawaii next October where the inexpensive Wheeler frame can take part in the Kona bike survey

That was my first tri bike for the 2002 season. Chuck built it up for me with full 105 (DA bar end shifters) and profile aerolite aerobars and Rigida DP-18 wheels for $695. Then before this year started I “upgraded” (nothing wrong with the Tsunami) to the Wheeler titanium frame and swapped over the parts. Both bikes were/are great. I also recently built a road/slam bike with this 2003 compact road frame. I put full Ultegra on that one. Also rocks! I just like building bikes myself, and those prices are tough to beat. If you want to see some photos of the bikes (the road bike was photographed prior to actually setting it up so ignore the angle of the Jammer GTs and the rear der on there is a 105 triple that I was using to finish building until the new Ultegra came in the mail) check out my personal page.
